Attention - Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder:

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is classed as a Neurodevelopmental disorder that includes a combination of issues, such as difficulty paying attention, hyperactivity, and impulsive behaviour. Adults with ADHD may struggle to maintain a stable relationship. This often leads to low self-esteem, and other issues.

People with ADHD lack focus, so you might find your mind wandering when you are cuddling or showing intimacy, your partner may think that you are not interested in them.

ADHD may make a person feel angry or lonely. These emotions may feel draining and zap all your interest in sex. Symptoms of ADHD can also cause relationship issues that make it harder for a person to enjoy intimacy.

People with ADHD may have a high or low libido – if your sex drive is high, you will want sex often, you may watch pornography more often, which will lead to your urges for solo or partnered sex to be more often. Some medication that you may be prescribed for ADHD, may cause your sex drive to be lower and not wanting sex as often.

As your psychosexual and relationship therapist we will talk about your sexual issues, this can help with the symptoms that impact on your sex life. I will also help you develop skills that will help you communicate with your partner, both in and out of any intimate situation.
